Steve and Cathy Moore spent a year renovating the former service station before opening Moe Dogs last year. Nestled on the corner of Sixth and Maryland Streets on old Route 66, the eatery boasts a hearty selection of hot dogs, sausages and steaks to satisfy hungry patrons.

The Moore’s best-kept secret, “The Big Man on Campus,” is a rib-eye steak platter filled to the edge with a 16- to 20-ounce steak, a healthy serving of sautéed mushrooms and French fries, topped with a cream-cheese stuffed jalapeno wrapped with bacon.

Steve cuts each steak himself and swears they’re tastiest served medium. Sip seasonal Ruby Redbird Shiner while listening to live music on the weekends.
