For the past six weeks, or maybe even longer, Michele and I have been busy pumping out publications.

On top of Amarillo Magazine , we've helped put together the first annual Life After 50 EXPO as well as the Life After 50 special section. Our efforts with Life After 50 certainly paid off, but we didn't even have time to wipe the sweat from our foreheads and sigh before we had to jump right into another publication: Discover Amarillo magazine.

While we did mentally prepare for this new project while working on Life After 50 and the monthly mag, Discover still took us by surprise. We put in a lot of hours and deep breaths into this sucker and it feels good to see the finished product, and it feels even better to breathe normally again.

This year, we took a different direction with Discover yet stayed on the same path as previous years. The magazine touches on everything a tourist or even townie needs to know about The Yellow Rose of Texas and surrounding communities.

From live entertainment and top eateries (based on Best of Amarillo 2010) to the wind industry and weather to art and outdoor activities, Discover will surely point readers in the right direction.

To say we worked long and hard on this publication is an understatement and we hope you are pleased with our efforts. Amarillo really does have so much to offer and I think this publication proves that.

As a relatively new resident of Amarillo, I've discovered restaurants and hidden treasures that I probably wouldn't have stumbled upon if I didn't contribute to this magazine.

After a slew of interviews with Amarillo gurus and hours of research and writing, I feel pretty studied on the city's history and heritage and I can't wait to test that knowledge when my friends and family come visit this summer.

Discover Amarillo will come with Sunday, May 22's Amarillo Globe-News. Please take a minute or two to read about your town and maybe even you will discover something new.
