A Penny Saved

Mrs. O.P. Goodman wanted to pay the physician for assisting in the birth of her daughter during the Depression in 1933, which was no small task. This Amarillo mother ended up saving 3,500 pennies for payment, which was promptly handed over to the doctor after the safe arrival of her little nine-pound bundle.
