What do you do when your children form a band and need a place to play? Open a venue, of course. That’s the impetus behind family-owned and -operated Gerb’s Wurst Bar, which opened in January of this year. You can see that band, Next to Kin, most weekends at the small eatery and bar.

Gerb’s offers a simple menu of bratwurst handmade in Tulia, including authentic sauerkraut (a Gerber family recipe), house-made spicy honey mustard, sausage wraps, and steak poppers. With a full bar and a variety of German beer, visit for dinner and stay after the kitchen closes to enjoy a friendly, neighborhood hangout and live music.

7145 Bell St., 398.9991

The kitchen is open Tuesday through Saturday 11:30 a.m.-9 p.m.; bar closes at 12 a.m. weeknights and 1 a.m. on Saturday.
