Avoid the mid-afternoon slump by eating a light, organic and good-for-you lunch at Eat-Rite. You can’t go wrong with the eatery’s popular Turkey Avocado sandwich, piled with fresh free range turkey slices (not deli meat), sprouts and avocado, and a side of blue corn tortilla chips. Add a cup of soup and homemade cornbread, and you’re set for the rest of your workday. The family-owned store/restaurant also offers a well-stocked salad bar so you can load up on veggies, and a smoothie bar with options for lactose intolerant customers.

2441 I-40 West, 353.7476, Eat-Rite Health Promotion Center

Open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
