Family-owned-and-operated Taqueria El Tapatio serves up authentic Mexican food in a kid-friendly atmosphere. Influenced by the Guadalajara region in Mexico, the ample menu ranges from the eatery’s popular mini tacos, nachos and burritos to seafood and sirloin steak.

The business continues to expand with two restaurants in Amarillo and one in Dumas. El Tapatio’s newest location on Paramount Blvd., which opened in April, offers a bright, updated interior in the dining area and a separate full bar. Stop by for breakfast every day from 7-11 a.m., lunch or dinner, and feast on one of the chef’s specialties like steak topped with jalapeños, shrimp and grilled onions, paired with charro beans and a fresh salad.

Taqueria El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant 3410 S. Coulter St., 331.6248/2028 Paramount Blvd., 331.7641

Open Sunday through Thursday 7 a.m.-9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 7 a.m.-10 p.m.
